I'm a big believer in the power of story.
It has the ability to persuade, comfort, explain, shock, confuse and question our world and our place in it.
Story is how we learn to relate to one another.
My roots
I was born at Crouse Hospital,
grew up in Lyncourt, went to Nottingham HS and then to SU. I have salt and snow in my veins and I bleed Orange. I have never looked for any other place to live because why should I, Central New York is the best place to be!
Why I do what I do
Powerful stories can have a positive impact on people's lives. Central New York has been my home all of my life and I want to tell the stories of the people and places that make this a great place to live.

Most people are not aware that the land upon which we stand here in Central New York was part of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. First year students at Syracuse University are asked to understand their feet are on land that was stolen.
Grounded in Haudenosaunee teachings, Rematriated Voices is a five-part series talk show that uplifts the voices of pre-eminent Indigenous thought leaders, traditional leadership, authors, activists and allies. You can watch all five episodes on WCNY Passport.
Albert Kresch was a highly regarded abstract artist and teacher. His work influenced many artists and some of his paintings now reside at the Smithsonian Institute. Watch for the full length documentary soon.
Chris Arnold turned the tragic death of his daughter to cancer into a lifeline for other families whose children are enduring that disease.

Anita was 14 and a freshman in high school when she was diagnosed with cancer.
Today she's living large in Los Angeles but has not forgotten what it was like to be a cancer patient.
“We are, as a species,
addicted to story. Even when the body
goes to sleep, the mind stays up
all night, telling itself stories.”
Jonathan Gottschall
You've heard the phrase "gym rat." Well, I consider myself a "production rat," I really love to shoot and edit. It's how I made my living prior to making a pivot to teaching at
SU's Newhouse School.
My experience includes working in a variety of genres; documentaries, commercials, marketing, drama, music and sports in broadcasting, cable and private production.
I am really focused (pun intended) on telling the stories of the people who are making a difference here in Central New York. Do you know someone
whose story should be told? Let me know!
At Honor Flight Syracuse, we depend on Andy’s skills and experience to tell the stories of our veterans and their service to our nation. His tireless, volunteer work has allowed us to honor the men and women who wore the uniform in defense of America. Andy’s storytelling talent is matched only by his winning personality and dedication to detail as our mission videographer. Andy is a pro. His work is outstanding, and is a pleasure to collaborate with.
Andy is a pro and his personal connection to our mission gives us a unique ability to share our story in support of our families. His work is outstanding, and he is a pleasure to collaborate with on a project.
I have been fortunate to have been able to collaborate with Andy on video projects for many years. His knowledge, experience, and talent have been invaluable to my company’s projects, as he has brought not only his expertise as a producer, director, and cinematographer, but most importantly has brought his professional abilities in working with clients. I am lucky to have been able to work with him all of these years, as he has certainly made my world a better place.
Andy is not only a master of his craft, but incredible to work with. He patiently walked us through the entire planning process, helped us write and organize the script and worked closely with us on all aspects of its creation. The end product was a multifaceted, beautifully produced piece that told the story of FOCUS Greater Syracuse.
I am happy to discuss anything if it means telling a good story about Central New York and working with passionate members of our community.
